Bell Schedules from CCS for Alma Easom/Vanstory Hills Parents 2019-2020 School Year
Published by Debra Hall on March 4, 2019

Alma Easom and VanStory Hills Parents,

In an effort to move all middle schools in Cumberland County to the same bell schedule, there is a proposal being considered that will alter the bell schedules in the Terry Sanford and Pine Forest school districts. This change will allow all our middle schools to operate on the same schedule, therefore, eliminating the need for students to miss instruction to travel to participate in athletics.  The change will also mean staggered start/end times for Alma Easom and VanStory Hills which will solve the challenge faced by parents who have children attending both schools. We believe this decision is in the best interest of students and will improve academic outcomes, as well as, solve some long-standing issues faced by parents at pick up. The proposed changes are as follows:

Alma Easom                                                               VanStory Hills

Drop off – 8:00                                                            Drop off – 8:15

Tardy Bell – 8:30                                                       Tardy Bell – 8:45

Release – 3:10                                                           Release – 3:25

District leadership and members of the Board of Education would like to hear any thoughts or concerns that may help inform their final decision in March. Please click on/or follow the link below to record your thoughts and concerns for our Central Office staff and our School Board members.
